Overview

The primary focus of the Director of Information Technology is to oversee the deployment and support of property-wide technology applications and infrastructure and associated corporate standards and information security. The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the ability to plan for future organizational needs and technology innovation incorporating best practices as well as new and emerging tools.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Oversee information systems operations, integrations and support including Microsoft Office productivity tools, web development and infrastructure, SharePoint, CRM, network infrastructure and security compliance
  • Direct the effective delivery of network or cloud systems, web or other development projects
  • Develop sustainable disaster recovery plans and processes
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards aimed at maximizing effectiveness and minimizing costs related to the acquisition, implementation and operation of IT systems
  • Collaborate with other Directors to determine appropriate technology plans that drive better metrics and results
  • Recruit, motivate and develop a superior staff as required to fulfill organizational needs
  • Build and lead a talented, flexible, responsive systems organization that is customer-oriented and exceptionally responsive
  • Produce high quality work and demonstrate professional values in all aspects of projects and interactions with colleagues and customers
  • Oversee helpdesk, infrastructure, networking, SQL database administration and cloud systems support
  • Provide guidance, and support to IT team, holding them accountable for quality solutions and timeliness
  • Ensure security awareness, best practice IT systems security and compliance measures to reduce associated risk to organizational assets and intellectual property
  • Develop and adhere to multi-year capital and operational departmental budgets and subsequent forecasts of expected annual financial results
  • Negotiate services or other contracts and administer Requests for Proposal or Quotation
  • Commitment to producing high quality work and demonstrating professional values in all aspects of work and interactions with colleagues and customers

Strategic Alignment

  • Understand the goals of the company and needs of the business owners
  • Align business goals and needs through deployment of existing applications functionality or assisting with the development of new functionality
  • Develop business application and digital roadmap strategy, planning and communication
  • Reviews, analyzes, and assists with defining business applications and modification requirements to systems
  • Assists in the evaluation of third party and vendor provided software
  • Prepares key technical inputs for steering committee level and strategic planning sessions and actively participates during these session
  • Partner closely with the Digital Marketing team to align on objectives, programs and KPIs
  • Define key business challenges and needs in the digital space and provide the solutions
  • Provide perspective in the prioritization of digital projects based on potential revenue impact

Project Management and Oversight

  • Lead development/implementation teams for digital platform projects from concept through completion (creating scope, requirements, user scenarios, testing, implementation, and user acceptance)
  • Work with stakeholders to understand project scope, timeline and priority, and recommend solutions to meet organizational goals
  • Lead project management of all digital development projects, establishing proper technical and functionality specifications documentation and acting as liaison between development team and stakeholders
  • Manage the scope of changes to projects and business requirements in order to meet project goals and deadlines without affecting other dependent projects
  • Assists project manager on business projects and ensure they deliver timely expected and accurate results
  • Ensure projects and related tasks and resources meet required deadlines, scope, budget, quality, and other measures of success commitments for projects, maintenance, and enhancements and services availability
  • Manage business planned application releases across the company

Software Development Life Cycle/Development

  • Leads a team that is responsible for simple or complex applications rollout to single or multi-properties
  • Manages the QA and release management of new and changes to applications through thorough testing, debugging and user acceptance before planning and executing deployment into Production
  • Ensure team develops documentation for users to install, operate and support
  • Provide end user training and advises on developing policy and procedures to meet business needs using existing application functionality

Support

  • Manages the enhancement and support activities for all legacy systems
  • Manage team who will be responsible for post implementation support and troubleshooting
  • Analyze problems and escalate issues in a timely manner for quick resolution
  • Create new and extend existing technical and operational documentation
  • Partner with IT teams on supporting systems and network infrastructure
  • Lead resolution, diagnosis, and communication during Sev 1 and Sev 2 situations to ensure delivery and 24/7 uptime of digital environment.

Vendor Management

  • Maintains strong vendor relationships to keep apprised of new products, versions and releases.
  • Vendor and consultants management through detailed communication and holding them to strict deliverables that are on budget and of acceptable quality and standard.

General Department & Team Management

  • Directs, manages, coaches and mentors team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, and Quality Analysts employees and contractors, as needed.
  • Exercises the authority of a director concerning hiring, performance improvement plans/ reviews, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations.
  • Prepares inputs to the budgeting for internal & external resources and expenses.
  • Establishes a comprehensive communications program that includes both formal and informal meetings, correspondence, and discussions with their respective businesses.
  • Promotes positive public and employee relations.

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of eight years of progressive technology experience, including operations within a cloud environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or business administration or a degree with a concentration in information technology from a recognized institution
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience leading the development and integration of information systems including integrated CRM, ERP and SharePoint components
  • Previous experience of working in Azure and Office 365 environments
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a team
  • Ability to operate with ease at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent knowledge of current and emerging technologies
  • Strong knowledge of information security and PCI compliance
  • ITIL or equivalent certifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology projects
  • Broad understanding of document management technologies and best practices
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success in a continual learning environment
  • Organized and having strong decision-making skills
  • Well-rounded communication and interpersonal skills in order to build collaborative relationships across the organization and lead cross-functional teams to achieve objectives

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing guests in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to continuously maneuver throughout the Casino areas.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds and able to bend, reach and stoop on a limited basis.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Constant exposure to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to crowds, secondhand smoke, and excessive noise. Intermittent time in office consisting of environmental factors typical in an indoor, climate-controlled office environment.
