Overview

The Security Shift Manager ensures adequate protection is provided for the safety of patrons and team members. Safeguards the assets of the organization as well as those of its guests and team members.  Promotes an outgoing, friendly guest oriented demeanor at all times. 

The Security Shift Manager will supervise a team of Security Officers/Security Supervisors in a shift work environment, fostering a safe and efficient work environment, while maintaining an open door policy.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The supervisor is accountable to his or her staff, assisting with hiring, training, evaluations, recognition and development.
  • Responsible for the protection of company assets and the reporting and arrest of criminals, ensuring the maintenance of peace and order for guests and fellow employees.
  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service. 
  • Set measures and standardized feedback reports/systems/tools to track department progress and keep the executive team and others as appropriate apprised of results and initiatives for continuous improvement
  • Garner peer involvement for strategies and initiatives
  • Recommend and ensure safety and emergency procedures training as required for non-security/transportation team members
  • Maintain accurate records on incidents and investigation
  • Oversee alarm and key control systems
  • Demonstrate a resounding commitment to responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service including the discouragement/prevention of problem gambling and underage gambling/consumption of alcohol
  • Maintain Weekly Logs (Escalator, Attendance, Monthly Training Exercises)
  • Coach Supervisors as needed
  • Quarterly/Monthly Audit of security systems
  • Training new team members
  • Review Reports daily
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Law and Security
  • A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience in a related field
  • Working knowledge of computer application packages
  • A current First Aid/CPR Certificate, along with Non-Violent Intervention Technique Certificate

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk distances.
  • Ability to lift 30 to 40 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
