Responsibilities

The System Administrator I is responsible for the overall system administration and system performance of one or more key systems at Hard Rock Casino Tejon California.  This includes, but not be limited to, systems such as InfoGenesis, CMP, Microsoft Networks, Telecommunications, VMWare and related software and hardware, personal computers, and systems, which play a key role in the operating environment of the casino.   The IT System Administrator is responsible for understanding at a technical level the products he/she supports and implements. This role configures, supports, maintains, and implements applications based on requirements and business needs. The IT System Administrator works with a variety of members in all departments in the technology team as well as with vendors and/or partners.  Position requires strong problem-solving, analytical and communications skills.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Tejon California their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service.
  • Establish and maintain backup and defense systems. (Knowledge of VEEAM Backup Software a plus)
  • Recommend server/casino application system fixes and enhancements.
  • Works under the direction of the Director of Property IT.
  • Plans and schedules work to meet assignments from the Director of Property IT who provides guidance.
  • Meets formally or informally with the manager or designated senior staff to discuss status, ask for assistance on intractable problems, and to review accomplishments.
  • Assists the IT department in providing third level support to the enterprise.
  • Assists the enterprise system, systems assurance, application development, and operations services in developing, implementing, and maintaining the technology infrastructure.
  • Documents design, implementation and final configuration for both new and existing techniques and equipment.
  • Escalates intractable problems to vendors and/or senior manager for resolution.
  • Maintains a current understanding of strategic product mix and vendor selections.
  • Creates problem reporting tickets and accurately uses all problem tracking software systems. (Knowledge of ServiceNow is a plus)
  • Maintains all critical firmware and OS updates for the infrastructure and server environment.
  • Monitors the server hardware to ensure it is properly maintained.
  • Coordinates with management for the acquisition of and contracting for hardware, software, and information technology services (including maintenance) for servers/casino applications.
  • Knowledge of network wiring/cabling.
  • Reviews detailed reports on trend analysis, capacity planning and overall system health. (Knowledge of SolarWinds is a plus)
  • Facilitates and documents guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Adheres to other defined SOPs as required.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with a CCIE certification. Minimum 4 years’ experience is required with casino base system applications. Microsoft MCSE, A+, and Network+ certifications are a plus.

  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Tejon Gaming Commission.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays with the understanding days off will fluctuate.
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry preferred.
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must be able to address stressful situation with guests with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

 

  • Knowledge of VMware, POS Systems (InfoGenesis), Active Directory, Windows desktop and Windows based servers and Telecomm Systems Administration and troubleshooting techniques is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of casino applications such as, but not limited to, SDS, CMP, Cage Module, and User Matrix.
  • Knowledge of standard cabling technologies such as UTP (Category 3, 5, 5e and 6, 6A), Fiber Optic (single mode, multi-mode), and Coaxial.
  • Proven experience in server architecture and operations.
