The incumbent is responsible for performing technical surveillance duties to ensure state and federal gaming laws and policies and procedures are being maintained. He or she will perform surveillance of the gaming floor, parking lot, back-of-the-house areas, outbuildings, and shops by means of complex electronic and video equipment while promoting outstanding guest relations.
Essential Duties
- Solely responsible for the installation and maintenance of surveillance equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repairs faulty equipment in timely manner.
- Observe and report all area under surveillance to ensure compliance with the Tejon Gaming Commission’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all company and departmental procedures are followed; assists various local, state, and federal authorities in various activities and investigations to ensure that procedures and laws are observed.
- Research, evaluate, make recommendations, and procures or provides expertise in the procurement of technical investigative equipment.
- Document and maintain detailed records (e.g. service requests, location of equipment, time and parts used for repairs, etc.)
- Schedule and/or coordinate services (e.g. repairs, installations, removal of equipment, preventative maintenance, etc.).
- Respond to 24-hour/day, seven day/week emergency callouts to perform and/or facilitate emergency equipment repairs anywhere technical investigative equipment is utilized.
- Test and evaluate new equipment to ensure that the equipment meets the parameters of Gaming Commission specifications.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Knowledge of a 24-hour, 7 days a week gaming operation.
- Knowledge of industry’s most sophisticated surveillance equipment, knowledge of gaming industry and normal trends in losses, ability to recognize and monitor suspicious activities of team members and guests.
- Knowledge of gaming scams in order to foresee and defray losses to the company, knowledge of monitoring techniques and ability to network with other gaming corporations and discuss surveillance activities.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
ABILITY TO:
- Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
- Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, or floors.
- Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electronic layouts and building plans.
- Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
- Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.
- Examine systems to locate problems, such as loose connections or broken insulation.
- Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions.
- Mount raceways and conduits and fasten wires to wood framing, using staplers.
- Adjust sensitivity of units, based on room structures and manufacturers’ recommendations, using programming keypads.
- Order replacement parts.
