The incumbent in this position, under moderate supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, is mainly responsible for preparing items for shipment, verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments, assembly and disassembly of products and shipping of all items; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording of all incoming deliveries.
Essential Duties
- Monitors safety practices and makes necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Handle all incoming and outgoing mail & packages for both internal and external guests.
- Sort all incoming mail, route delivery to addressee or place in individual mailbox by 3pm each day.
- Operate mail processing equipment and utilize shipping/receiving equipment such as hand trucks and mail carts.
- Process and keep records for all outgoing first class, certified and registered mail. Weigh outgoing mail & properly calculate and affix postage.
- Receives and verifies identifying information & counts, weights, or measures of incoming deliveries against bill of lading, packing slip and receiving worksheet. This may include receiving of slot machines at the loading dock, however, there will be no access to the interior of the machine.
- Unpacks & examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and communicates closely with management on problems or errors.
- Documents & maintains records of receipt and inspections.
- Verifies pricing on invoices received at time of delivery to purchase orders.
- Coordinates with Purchasing on any price adjustments needed, prior to sending paperwork to Accounts Payable.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Data entry, filing, faxing, answering phones and other general office work.
- Maintain clean work area, sweep floors and general housekeeping.
- Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
- Perform work regularly and predictably.
