Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing the performance of financial, operational and technical analyses. This position provides support to senior management by ensuring business strategies and financial goals are achieved.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manages and coordinates and supports business and financial planning, including short and long-term financial forecasting.
  • Manages the annual budget process. Develops historical, current and potential future trend analysis.
  • Responsible for monthly executive financial reporting requirements. Assesses and communicates financial and operating results to managers
  • Develops appropriate financial and operating metrics for use by senior management in decision making. Ensures departmental goals and performance measures are understood and achieved by managers.
  • Evaluates and develops financial analysis tools to assess growth, and investment options.
  • Participates in the assessment of current systems and business processes for adequacy and consistency. Develops financial and operating statements. Leads in the presentation of financial and analytical  information.
  • Supports review meetings with managers to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree program in the area of finance, business or accounting. Advance degree and/or professional certification are preferred. Experience of at least 3 to 5 years with significant exposure in business analysis in the Gaming or Hospitality industry.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • The Gaming and/or hospitality industry preferred, including principles and practices of a capital and operations budget.
  • The following office systems: Microsoft Office Word and Excel, and other accounting systems.
  • Query tools.
  • Sound interpersonal judgment and decision-making skills
  • Five plus years experience with financial systems and proficiency with spreadsheet software.

 

ABILITY TO:

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effectively perform multiple tasks.
  • Interface professionally with business contacts and guests.
  • Communicate effectively with subordinates, coworkers, and management.
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Interpret and explain policies and procedures.
  • Obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, understanding the potential impact on the department.
